Texas Criminal Consequences
In Texas, all crimes ranging from traffic tickets to driving while intoxicated or up to murder are given a general punishment range of consequences.
Know the differences.
Class C misdemeanor: No Jail and up to $500 fine
Class B Misdemeanor: Up to 180 Days in jail + up to $2,000 fine
Class A Misdemeanor: Up to 1 year in jail + up to $4,000 fine
State Jail Felony: 6 months - 2 years in jail + up to $10,000 fine
3rd Degree Felony: 2 - 10 years in prison + up to $10,000 fine
2nd Degree Felony: 2 - 20 years in prison + up to $10,000 fine
1st Degree Felony: 5 - 99 years of life in prison + up to $10,000 fine
Capitol Felony: Life in prison or death
